Four of five sentences in Frank's post related to remembering his Vietnam experience and our peers who have passed on. I constructed my two sentence remark as a reminder to include our veteran peers that were left out of Frank's otherwise good suggestion to remember our deceased peers. I don't believe Frank ignored that group purposely but like many Christians speaks as if everyone is part of a Christian world. (Recent studies indicate that about 25% and possibly much more of Americans have no god belief.) Still, there was nothing insulting or caustic in my remarks unless a simple reminder that a substantial percentage of veterans who do not subscribe to any possibility of going "home to God" should also be remembered, is somehow offensive.

So even the slightest hint of a different view offends your delicate sensibilities. Have you ever even for a moment tried to put yourself in someone else's shoes Bruce? I shouldn't have to illustrate but I will. Imagine if someone said we should remember all the white veteran peers who have passed on. Even you might recognize that such a narrow description leaves out all the non-whites.
