Subject: FINAL GUARDMOUNT FOR TSGT GLENN WILSON, LIFE MEMBER #117

I am very sad to report that my sector sergeant at Cam Ranh Bay 68-69, TSgt Glenn Wilson, stood his final Guardmount. He was the best sergeant in the United States Air Force. He became an Air Policeman in 1950 and used his experience to keep us alive and out of trouble. It was 49 years ago but it seems like yesterday. There were some tough times for many of us but he cared so much for us and our families. We worked hard for him and survived because of his great leadership as a first line supervisor. I remember walking down a row of hooches to find him and a couple of other sergeants drinking beer, sitting next to a grill cooking chicken. It was 0800 and he offered me a beer for breakfast because we had just worked all night on Phantom Flight. I said, "Thanks, Sarge...I'd follow you straight into hell." He looked up at me and said, "You may as well have another beer because we are already here." I have copied his obituary below. Please keep his family in your prayers.

Glenn Wilson, VSPA Life Member #117, Cam Ranh Bay 68-69, of North Syracuse, New York, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017. He was 84 years old and was born in Syracuse, New York. He served in the US Air Force as an Air Policeman and Security Policeman from 1950 - 1970. Glenn was also a meat and dairy inspector for New York State, retiring after 20 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 113 in Baldwinsville and a Life Member of the Vietnam Security Police Association. He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Irene Wilson; his wife, Joan (Slye) Wilson, and his daughter, Cary Ann (Wilson) Clark. Glenn is survived by his children, Glenn D. (Sharon) Wilson of Central Square, Jay P. (Angel) Wilson of Portland, ME, and Terry R. (Missy) Wilson of Cicero; his son-in-law, Rick L. Clark of Clay, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 1:30 PM in the THOMAS J. PIRRO JR. FUNERAL HOME, 3401 Vickery Rd. (corner of Buckley Rd) North Syracuse, NY.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 7th North St., Liverpool, NY 13088.
