I never bought any Stones albums after Brian died

You're missing out Linda! All four albums with Mick Taylor are excellent (although EOMS is totally overrated by an awful lot of Stones fans). Granted, they were not the same band they'd been with Brian, but they were still a very, very good band. Listening to the great live bootlegs from the early '70s is great fun, especially because Mick T totally blows Keith out of the water.

For anyone into downloading, here's a link to the most famous one of all. The title and artwork may say "Munich", but don't be fooled: this is the very famous and well-loved "Brussels Affair" bootleg, with a sound quality as good as any official live recording.

Winrar needed to extract.

but when "Through The Past, Darkly" was released, did they use the Mick Taylor version, or go back to the old Brian Jones version of it? I suspect it was Mick Taylors?

Mick Taylor's version is the only one that still exists. Unless Brian's is buried somewhere deep in the vaults, but I'm not holding my breath.
