I've moved every couple years my entire life and consider myself an expert. :-)

I believe in taking a polite but firm approach to problems. Tell the renter he has 24 hours to remove his things; after 24 hours his belongings will be on the front lawn. Don't be afraid of seeming rude to someone who is being incredibly rude to you.

Don’t you have a signed estimate and contract with the mover? They aren’t allowed to charge you more than 110% of the estimated costs. Relocation companies sometimes can’t confirm an exact delivery date (it’s usually a spread of several days) but a difference of eleven days is unacceptable. I would wait until after you get your belongings delivered and then complain (in writing) and demand to be compensated for the inconvenience. If the delay cost you any money make sure you keep the receipts.

I still can't believe the woman dug up the mailbox. Absurd!
