Subject: Forgotten First Animal?

In the annals of the Good Ship Rolling Stone, the tragic decline of its original Captain is attributed to bad choices and the people he either took on board or jumped on as stowaways (example: Alan Klein, Tom Keylock, the police (!!!), etc., etc.) that he failed to deal with in a manner that was advantageous to himself.

What most folks these days tend to downplay is the "contribution" of one of those first two animal pairs to jump aboard that "ark"...Andrew Loog Oldham. Mr. O. decided early on (maybe even before he got on board) that he didn't like the musical direction this powerful ship was going and grabbed the wheel out of the Captains hands, with the cooperation of the First and Second Mates, and took over the ship as Helmsman. All attempts the Captain made to recover the helm of his ship were frustrated by the Crew, who liked the financial success of the new course the ship was taking. The Captain was pushed further and further to the back of the ship, and never again allowed to show himself as the true originator. All credit was given to the First and Second Mate by the new self-appointed "King Rat"...no matter what anyone else tried to do. The unyielding Captain, locked in his cabin, unwisely turned to his "bottle of rum" for comfort and ended up eventually drowned in the deep blue sea.

Fast forward 42 years A.D. (After Drowning) and that first usurper has now been pushed to the back of the bus himself, and is barely included on the illustrious list of Super-Villains directly and indirectly responsible for that long-ago tragedy. This writer feels that is a shameful oversight, and Andy should be bumpped up much higher on the list and given back his rightful place as the original King Rat! What say you????
