I had plenty of dealings with the Sussex police. In the 60s, from about 64-66. They were just fine. One time I was picked up for questioning about a murder my mother called and told them I had committed after she had heard about said murder on the radio. Let me state that my mother was not right in the head and an alcoholic who hated me for the simple reason Id been born a girl, and I had a lifetime of problems dealing with her insanity. However, after being questioned, the police realised I had nothing to do with the murder other than having apparenly seen the perp rushing away from the off liscence at the right time. I was unfortunate enough to have been heading to my local coffee bar as he was escaping. We used to walk up to the cops puffing large joints to ask for directions. They would simply tell us to move away from them with the weed. No problems. Sussex was not the only force assigned to Brians investigation, Scotland Yard also had a hand in it. I could tell you more irrelevant stories about Sussex, but overall, they were like any other force anywhere. I dont believe there was a coverup, and Giuliano is simply trying to sell books.
