Someone was suggesting it could have been the method where you grab someone's hands from behind, and pull them backwards towards through the water, thus filling the lungs quickly. Don't know if that would be possible in this case or not....

That would seem to make more sense. But my problem remains: Keylock (or whoever else) would have had to be submerged for most of the duration. Don't forget also that Keith has said that although he was short, Brian was very strong. And someone fighting for his life would be that much stronger.

The only way I can see this happening in the short time it seems to have taken would be for at least two people holding Brian's head in the water until he stopped resisting, with maybe another holding his hands behind his back (this last part just occurred to me from reading your post).
