As a teacher for more years than I care to think about, I have seen both. I've seen good parents really trying to raise their kids right and when they have one who can only raise holy h---, we just shake our heads and wonder just where that kid really came from. Then we see the parents who should probably remained celibate have a kid who is fantastic. Again we wonder just where that one came from.

How kids are raised does make a difference I think, however what I do know is that children who are indulged throughout their lives become indulged adults. Indulged adults are the biggest pain in the backside I can possibly think of.
