Well, I had originally planned on finishing up a bit sooner, but a handful of tests, major papers, presentations and a magazine closing have pretty much booked me full so far this week. So here it is, Friday night, and the choice is between this and laundry...

passion - i'm gonna hit all the parodies at once. The Buddha part was alright.. not that great but it's setting up the theme and concise enough. I'm all for puns, but the islam pun is extremely forced. It would work so much better if you could create a situation where he actually said "Is lamb" without those words in the middle. The final one was the best, a documentary of all the rest. The Star of David joke is just utterly bizarre in a great way. Biblical units! Why would you use centimeters when you have the much funnier cubits to tap. The final pun would be better if Gibson didn't call attention to it in such an irritating manner.

neptune - this sketch was originally supposed to hit in the Simpson/Lachey episode. I pulled it for a few reasons. I think it works better now, especially since putting it on the backburner allowed me to exaggerate the situations even further (the party scene was originally a plain ole one night binge). Heheh, bonus to anyone who knows why this is named Neptune's Lament. Bodycount at 2.

weekend update - typically, you want to start off with a strong joke. That Laura Bush knock just has no humor value whatsoever... Those are some scary naked people. Reminds me of that Tracy Morgan/Shaq sketch, "Now your mother's got a butt like a bag of wet clothes." As I mentioned in chat, the Donald Trump joke in the last commentary makes NO metaphoric sense. You wouldn't give Trump money, because he already has tons. So you wouldn't give Bush a Nobel Peace Prize, because he already has tons? Huh? I felt my material kinda sucked in comparison to what I've done before for WU.

remote mistake - this just didn't hit me as all that funny. It wasn't really all that exaggerated beyond what could be expected. You had some very good reasons for the company to not allow unsubscribing the porn. I guess you have an alright pay-off at the end, but most of the rest reads nearly like straight drama to me.

death or glory - the first appearance of this character made me laugh; however, when I saw he was in this sketch I was worried that the main joke of the previous one would ruin this one. Course, not too worried cause I know reusing premises in a terribly blatant way is one of many of this site's visitors least favorite thing about SNL. I liked the change of show, and I have to admit, you caught me off-guard with the fact that he hates the Clash. I thought it was kind of cool you used Christina as a foil, instead of spending the time taking cheap blows at her - there's already plenty of that elsewhere in this episode.

innocent - i have never heard of Terry Jacks.

and i feel fine - It appears you have a thing for Kunille, Langus and Krabbs. Somehow, I don't think they go so well together. Seeing as how they never refer to each other by name, though, it's just amusement for the sketch reader that won't really affect anything. While this sketch is mostly a set-up for a surprise ending that works quite well, some more humor towards the middle could be useful. I think you could of created crazier community concerns for the doctors than school districts and cable service. The sketch ends very strong though, and doesn't spend forever getting there, so I think this one would turn out good. It's a good sketch to close off with.

So there's the rest of the review. Sorry I couldn't keep up the cowboy theme, I guess I just wasn't feeling very rawhide.
