Okay funny people this is hole. I just want to lay down the law on this here site! Is this a comedy site or an SNL fansite. I say this cause, I am a MADtv fan. If y'all would watch MADtv once in awhile y'all would know that it kicks the crap out of SNL.
I'll admit, SNL was a legendary show, but now it's time to step down and call the champion MADtv. So layoff the MADtv insults. Comedy writers should respect other comedy writers.
By the way one stumper for y'all. What if you were offered a position on MADtv or Mad Mag instead of SNL. Would you abandon your principles for Saturday Night Live, and go for the money! A writing job is a writing job. This is hole and I am outta here!!!

- The Lost Art of Writing a Review (2) -- CCS, 03:15:17 02/10/05 Thu
OK, I figured out what was messing up my table for "Something's Different All Right...", so here's the correct version, and reviews for the sketches on up to WU.
<center><b>Something's Different All Right...</b>
<i>by Jeremy Barr</i></center>
<center><TABLE WIDTH="600" BORDER="3" CELLSPACING="0" CELLPADDING="2" BGCOLOR="A0B0A0" BORDERCOLOR="4D4D88">

<center><b>English Class</b>
<i>by Wes Zack and Scott Rowan</i></center>
Oh the irony, Paris Hilton as a school teacher. I gotta ask, who stares at Paris Hilton's breasts? She's not really endowed there... she's built more for the eyes of the leg men. There were two main themes here, the racial and the sexual. At first glance, the sexual doesn't really add too much to this sketch; it's presence is more like a padded bra, helping fill the piece out. It's kind of silly in a way because if things go well, that bra will be coming off, and the deception exposed. I'm mixing my metaphors again. By a person experienced in saying things funny, this could be a good basis for a sketch, but.... Paris is cast as the school teacher and I think moreso than the previous sketches, she would be completely outclasses by this material. It's short so she won't get lost, but she just won't be able to pull off the accents to make the dogs funny. Also, she learns her lesson in the end, making this slightly less humiliating of a sketch for her.
<center><TABLE WIDTH="600" BORDER="3" CELLSPACING="0" CELLPADDING="2" BGCOLOR="A0B0A0" BORDERCOLOR="4D4D88">
<TH colspan="2"><font color="4D4D88"><b>Difficulty</b></font></TH><TH colspan="2"><font color="4D4D88"><b>Humiliation</b></font></TH><TR><TD WIDTH="165" BGCOLOR="4D4D88"><center><font color="BBBBEE"><b>55</b></font></center></td><td width="135" BGCOLOR="B0B0D0"><font color="A0A0A0"> .</font></td><TD WIDTH="60" BGCOLOR="4D4D88"><font color="BBBBEE"><b><center>20</center></b></font></td><td BGCOLOR="B0B0D0"><font color="B0B0D0"> .</font></td></tr></table></center>
<center><b>Be Careful What You "Wish" For</b>
<i>by DRG4</i></center>
Another quick sketch, this centers on the universal pasttime of conning stuff from last wish charities. The sketch flows and moves along quickly. If there's one thing I'd change about the sketch, it's Paris's willingness to do pretty much anything. I think it would enhance the comic release of her finally understanding the offer of sex and leaping at that if earlier G-rated activities were balked at, in a haughty bitch way. For example, instead of "You want to jump on the bed together?" perhaps something like "Jump on the bed? Not on that cheap mattress." The sketch ends quite well, delivering its comic punch rapidly. This sketch does the best on my meters so far, as it's a simple role and fairly offensive to Paris.
<center><TABLE WIDTH="600" BORDER="3" CELLSPACING="0" CELLPADDING="2" BGCOLOR="A0B0A0" BORDERCOLOR="4D4D88">
<TH colspan="2"><font color="4D4D88"><b>Difficulty</b></font></TH><TH colspan="2"><font color="4D4D88"><b>Humiliation</b></font></TH><TR><TD WIDTH="30" BGCOLOR="4D4D88"><center><font color="BBBBEE"><b>10</b></font></center></td><td width="270" BGCOLOR="B0B0D0"><font color="A0A0A0"> .</font></td><TD WIDTH="225" BGCOLOR="4D4D88"><font color="BBBBEE"><b><center>75</center></b></font></td><td BGCOLOR="B0B0D0"><font color="B0B0D0"> .</font></td></tr></table></center>
<center><b>Moon Time Show</b>
<i>by Cash Car Star</i></center>
This sketch was mine own, so there's not too much I can say about it that I didn't already post in "Quick and to the Pointless." There's no Paris involved so we would get to enjoy a sketch without her while she would get to enjoy a pineapple martini or whatever kind of alcohol it is that she drinks.
<center><TABLE WIDTH="600" BORDER="3" CELLSPACING="0" CELLPADDING="2" BGCOLOR="A0B0A0" BORDERCOLOR="4D4D88">
<TH colspan="2"><font color="4D4D88"><b>Difficulty</b></font></TH><TH colspan="2"><font color="4D4D88"><b>Humiliation</b></font></TH><TR><TD WIDTH="0" BGCOLOR="4D4D88"><center><font color="BBBBEE"><b></b></font></center></td><td width="300" BGCOLOR="B0B0D0"><center><font color="4D4D88"><b>Wooo, no Paris!</b></font></center></td><TD WIDTH="0" BGCOLOR="4D4D88"><font color="BBBBEE"><b><center></center></b></font></td><td width="300" BGCOLOR="B0B0D0"><center><font color="4D4D88"><b>Wooo, no Paris!</b></font></center></td></tr></table></center>
<center><b>Good Cop Bad Cop</b>
<i>by Jason Dignard</i></center>
Two sketches in a row with no Paris! I bet she's knocking them pineapple martinis back like crazy. This is a classicly styled sketch here. It takes one character basis: Lenny's too nice a guy to play bad cop, and runs with it the whole sketch. This has its advantages and its drawbacks. The dialogue's good enough so that when it doesn't carry as a comedy piece, it carries as a slightly interesting drama. Unfortunately, there's no real laughs until Lenny slams the phone book the first time, the mitigating advantage here is that it holds off the reveal of what's funny about this scene while tension builds. The tone is good, I think you just need to thread in a few more sources of humor. Perhaps some stronger straight man lines for Chris would fit the bill. The sketch closes well, although I think the ending would be funnier if the closing comment were something other than a simple scream.
<center><TABLE WIDTH="600" BORDER="3" CELLSPACING="0" CELLPADDING="2" BGCOLOR="A0B0A0" BORDERCOLOR="4D4D88">

- A halfway-point review. -- Jim Bevan, 21:21:03 01/23/05 Sun
In the hopes of taking everyone's mind of the upcoming debacle that will be the Paris Hilton-hosted show (which we will do a far better job with than the SNL crew, if you recall last year's Trump episode), I thought I'd do a quick rundown of what I felt to be the best sketches from each show we've done so far in the first half of the season. Feel free to share your own opinions as well, and let's have fun in the second half.
And my picks are:
(Affleck): Kentucky Jelly - Patrick Lonergan
(Latifah): Amazing Archaeological Discoveries - DRG4
(Law): The Perfect British Tenant - DRG4
(Winslet): Speeding Ticket - Cash Car Star
(Neeson): Liam Neeson's Monologue - Jen
(Wilson): Ray and Belle Rob a Bank - Cash Car Star
(Farrell): The Jameson Firm - Prateek Srivastava
(De Niro): Mario's Pizza - Jason Dingard
(Grace): A Link for Morons - J.P. Ragan
(Giametti): Mr. Miller - Chelsea Almany

- A few questions -- The New Guy, 21:28:05 01/18/05 Tue
I just wanted to ask a few questions, as well as talk about myself for a second.
Are the sketches to a six-day deadline like it says in the faqs, or can you do it up until the very Saturday?
How does one start writing jokes for Weekend Update, and what is the deadline? I only ask this question because news happens everyday, and it should be up to the minute by Saturday.
Also, I don't want to sound like I'm desperate, but if Mr. Lonergan is listening (or whoever edits) I would love for my first two sketches to get on(Graph, Lifeboat). I know that it is your decision and I may not get any of my three sketches on, but if they do could you please put those two if any?
Also, I apologize for the lackluster sketch I did this Saturday, only because I wrote a better, longer, crisper sketch of VCRs 101, and then my computer froze and I forgot to save it. I was so pissed, and it might have shown in my work, for I had to do the whole skit over immediately after. I think I'm also a missing another segment in it that made it flow properly. Also, I apologize to Patrick Lonergan about my not-being-able to put the names in boldface, since my computer is so messed up I can't even go into Microsoft Word. I AM COMPUTER ILLITERATE!!!! Hopefully, this will be temporary.
I hope to write more and more for this excellent site. I have about a hundred sketch ideas in my head (and on paper) from the past. I am a huge fan of SNL, and hope to write there someday. Then, truly and factually, I will know there is a God.

(For a broader definition of a Hoe: Please refrence Christina Agularia under the 'Skank Ass Exposure & Employment Act') Futhermore, White Hoes will not be denied permission to partake in any behaviour on camera or in the above mentioned format that is deemed 'Wild', 'Slutty' and or 'Sleezy'. (Please See section 2: Mardi Gras/Boobs For Beads Act).
I Laughed I cried it was better than CCCCCats! After Eminem earned a crazy $116 million at the box office, and sold like 6 million copies of the soundtrack, plus an Oscar for “Lose Yourself,” 50 Cent has also decided to make a movie based on his life. Still in the early stages, the tale of the Jamaica Queens rapper will be drastically different, as he's lived through shootings and spent time dealing crack. To make it as authentic as possible, the film is being developed by Terry Winter (Who is a writer for 'The Sopranos'). While 50 will play himself, Frankie Muniz ('Malcolm in the Middle') seems to be the early fave to play Em. Other cast ideas have included.. Justin Guarini (From Justin to Kelly), and Kelly Clarkson (From Justin to Kelly) to play 50's parents , while Judge Judy Sheindlin, Kim Bassinger and Rupaul have read for 50's Grandma, Sherman Hemsley seems to have the role of Dre locked D!
Can I get a Witness? Eminem gave one lucky fan the shock of her life last week when he removed his necklace, allegedly worth $450,000, and gave it to her. lifting the chain and pendant above his head he added, "I'm not fronting, but this cost me $450,000." Eminem then bent over and gave the piece of jewellery to her. One onlooker said, "She looked so astonished! She almost fainted and barfed in disbelief but her friends held her up." sounding a little bitter He also added, "Damn, I went to a Lil Kim concert last fall, and all I got was this lousy Chlamydia!" And in an Ironic Twist: The alleged $450,000 necklace was only worth 200 dollars!!! (And the crowd goes awwww)
Just a Bit More Shady... This past week in Scotland, from the balcony of his hotel room, Slim was shown dangling a doll, complete with surgical mask, up and down over the balcony. And in a related story... Call it a classic battle of one-upmanship, but Michael Jackson was also seen in the same Hotel dangling 'Tito', complete with surgical mask up and down over the very same balcony. Round 2 anyone?
I don't know about you but ever since Bow Wow dropped the 'Lil' from his name I feel I have a renewed sense of purpose, As if life finally has meaning! I'm sleeping better, I'm bathing again... 4 consecutive 'good hair' days... A fluke? I think not!
What Chu Talk'n Bout!!! Vanilla Ice was recentley quoted in Chart magazine saying he'd like to follow up his celebrity boxing match with Todd Bridges with a bout against Eminem. "Uh, I wish I could," he admitted "I have been trying, I wanted to fight him... I mean that would be huge ratings wouldn't it? I'd just do it for the hell of it cause I'm crazy like that" Vanilla went on to say if Em didn't agree to the fight, he'd focus his next bout on kicking the shit outta Conrad Bain, Garry Coleman, and Mrs.Garrett. I see this one going the distance. Ding Ding!
Queen Latifah has gone under the knife for breast reduction surgery, according to published reports. The rapper/actress flaunted her double-D breasts for the last time at the Academy Awards. In addition The Queen has also dropped about 40 pounds by working out with a personal trainer. And In a related health story, Kelly Rowland has hit the Gym hardcore and has targeted her Original Birth weight as her goal. Good luck Kelly... And Remember... Stay Hungry!
Chuck D and Flavor Flav, Busta Rhymes, MC Lyte, and Phife from A Tribe Called Quest have teamed up under the name the 'Spitballers' to record a sports anthem called "Let's Get Loud (Everybody Get Up)," which will debut as the opening song for the ESPY Awards. And in other Sports/Music news, Jose Canseco and Mike Tyson, have decided to hit the studio and record an anthem as well.. Tenitivly titled "I'ma Kick Yo Ass" (also available in braile and lisp-version) The song will debut in the near future with all proceeds going to the "I'ma Kick yo Ass Endowment fund" , and the "Underachievers and Overbearing Idiots Society' Please give...
After seeing a few pictures on line, I can't help but wonder if new Female MC 24k is really Alicia Keys with a Mic and a Ring Name?
Dennis Rodman is looking for a slice of the intellegence pie as he's appearing in a new ad campaign for the Trivial Pursuit game. "I've accomplished many great things on the basketball court,' he says, "But it figures that my appearance in a wedding dress would be the thing that got me immortalized by Trivial Pursuit. Look for the 'Idiots and Crossdressers' Edition to hit stores soon.
Mark your calenders, cause on July 5th at the Darknights Festival in Toronto, Local MC Da Original (A long time fixture in Toronto's rap underground ) will attempt to set the Guiness World Records for 'Longest Freestyle Rap'. Billed as 'Rhyme Till You Can’t Rhyme No More…' D.O. explained he had approached Guiness and was told the record could be set if he freestyled for an hour. Well that wasn't good enough, D.O. wanted to set the record straight and never be touched, hence he's shooting for 8 hours of rhyming with a 15 minute break.. (Wait here's a lyrical sample of hour 7.... " Yo Yo. Check it... ???Cat, Bat, Matt, Pat, ??? Sat, Rat, Hat, Phat" ) I hope Buckley's Mixture has a street team!
And Finally... Emmy Award winning actor Ving Rhames will narrate a new documentary film called "Beef" that chronicles various rap battles and rivalries throughout the history of hip-hop. Sounds Hot! And in other Film news Ja Rule is slated to star in a new documentary film called "Chicken", that chronicles the various battles and rivalries that exsist amoungst 'Poultry'

Did anyone see the VH-1 Diva's Special? A few quickies...Chakah Kahn...She sounded great, but unfortunately she looked more like a rented prop from the Lion King. When she was being interviewed I was anxiously waiting for her chest to start giving shout-outs.... Was is me or did it look like her breast's were actually going to eat her. Whitney Houston.... Ok where do I start. 'World Vision Whitney' claiming to be 5 or 6 months pregnant, still looks like she's missed lunch since 1986... She's a javelin with hair!
More Whitney...Whitney Houston and her idiot sidekick husband have officially embarked on a "spiritual retreat" to Israel, according to her director of publicity. It's the couple's first trip to the Holy Land. When getting off the plane Bobby was overheard yelling "Where Ma Bagels At!" The high-profile couple also met with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon... Where Bobby and the Prime minister discussed at length the road to peace... Jewish/Palestinian relations...and different ways to build a crack pipe out of Matzo.
Bounce, Bounce, Bounce, Bounce… R. Kelly recently appeared in court in Chicago to ask permission to leave the jurisdiction for a number of trips planned in mid-to-late June. Destinations include, New York, Los Angeles and Dallas. Kelly hopes to be able to shoot a video, attend the BET Awards in L.A... And participate as guest editor and keynote speaker for July's issue of 'Seventeen'. As luck would have it I found a rough draft of his Editorial that may appear in that very issue, and I stress that this may not be the final copy... "Hey Girls!!! Welcome to Seventeen... I'm your guest editor R-Kelly. Even though I was seventeen, well... kind of a long time ago (long enough that I'm not telling how long ago! I am giggling! I am funny!), my inner seventeen year old is dieing to get out...she's the wild-child optimist in me that I hope I'll never let go of completely...I remember fondly that being seventeen had such a unique charm and magic. The changes I was going through — sure they were difficult, but at the same time, they were often pretty darn exciting. So I say to you girls 'Gimmie That Toot Toot..... Gimme That Beep Beep!' I hope you all enjoy this issue of Seventeen... I know I will. Please pay special attention to the mail out section...make sure to include your home phone number and times you may ever be in the greater Chicago Area... oh P.S… I'm equipped for Beta. Signed... R Kelly."
R&B singer Nivea and her fiancée, Cash Money's Lil Wayne are scheduled to be married next March. The best news about this is that they have decided to take Baby's advice and have their vows tattooed on their faces...good call!
Who Shot Cha! According to Daily Variety, Sylvester Stallone is slated to write, direct and star in a film about the unsolved deaths of Biggie & Tupac. Stallone's project "Rampart Scandal," centres in on the massive internal investigation of the LAPD that some say links off-duty officers directly to the murders of Christopher Wallace and Tupac. Stallone will play LAPD detective Russell Poole who was the key in uncovering the corruption in LAPD's rampart division, while Talia Shire, plays Biggie, and Burt Young returns as Tupac.... A must see!
Please Return your Tray's to an Upright Position Bee-otch! Snoop Dogg is re-making the classic comedy 'Airplane'. The film is called 'Soul Plane' and is set to go into production in late June. Snoop plays a pilot, and Method Man will portray the airline owner's best friend. Can’t wait for the press releases. I can hear Ebert that fat bastard saying… "I loved him in Girls gone wild"… "I was Moved by Murder was the case”… “And I was touched by the entire Hustler Dog Style trilogy". This Film touched me fo rizz-ule and I give this shit two thumbs up Ho!... "Gene Shallot of the Today show says... " It was like an updated Sound of Music… without the sound... and without the music"... and lastly Rex Reed from the New York Observer says… “I loved this picture, I haven’t had this much fun since I tried to wear my own sphincter as a hoodie!”
Macy Gray is developing a new cartoon for Warner Bros. Animation based on her childhood in Canton, Ohio, called "A Pretty Good Life." Ever notice that nobody really has any beef with Macey? Is it because her music and attitude don't warrant it, or is it that she's really Larry Holmes with Breast's... something to think about.
If ya haven't heard the new Jay-Z joint S. Carter Collection joint, you sleeping kid! Peep the Track Blunts and Armandale... Jay over Dre... Crazy Hot!!!!
You must be kidding... Hiphopsite.com recently reported that Royce Da 5’9 is currently in talks with Murder Inc. Sources say one of the sticking points of the deal is Royce's reluctance to perform under the new stage name Ja-shanti... stay tuned.
Holy Shit! Joseph 'Afro man' Foreman, who found worldwide success with his anthem 'Because I Got High', has given his life to God. His new found faith has him at odds with his current label, Universal Records, who oppose the suggested first single entitled 'The Lord gots the Good shit' and the B-side "Father I have Resin". Foreman’s first LP The Good Times, was a gold selling album in the U.S. & Platinum overseas.
And finally…The doctor who treated rapper 50 Cent for bullet wounds three years ago says the hip-hop star didn't pay him for his medical care. Dr. Nader Paksima filed papers in State Supreme Court suing the 27-year-old rapper, whose legal name is Curtis Jackson, for more than $32,000 in unpaid medical bills. And in other related news... The Alleged Shooter who shot 50 nine times, is also launching a law suit against the rapper for "Failure to return the bullets that I shot into your body" Both parties were unavailable for comment.

- This past Saturday's show. -- Dale, 15:16:47 11/23/04 Tue
Hey guys, I wanted to survey your thoughts on this past Saturday's SNL. There seems to be a divide among fans with some saying this was essentially one of the great shows of the past five years while others say it was an average show enhanced by U2. I'm somewhat in the middle on this, I think it was the best show of the year so far on its own merits and U2 definitely added a spark, however, it doesnt measure up to the great shows of the past five years and the cast still has a long way to go. Your Thoughts?

Pat, in the Cold Opener, the tribute from Lorne, you have him say that he tried to have the SNL domain name removed. Did the NBC legal staff actually do this, or was it just used for exaggeration?

Hey everyone,
I am working on a semester research project on Saturday Night Live fans. You are all fans of the show, so I want to get your thoughts on the "Saturday Night You" fan website. In essence, what are your reasons for visiting the site and/or writing and submitting sketches? Are some of you aspiring writers who want to work in television or on SNL? Do you view the site as providing an outlet for your creativity? Or, do you just enjoy talking with other fans
of show? Let me know what you think!
Thanks for your help,
Joel
