Wow, quite a big turnout for the season finale. And I'm not even going to break the review into two parts! How's that for daring?

The Phrase and You: I can't explain it, but this sketch really didn't appeal to me. I thought the narrator had some good lines though, particularly the insult to Norwegians.

Monologue: THis had potential, though the song was a little too explicitly crude for my liking. It could have been better.

Hot Pockets: I'm surprised no one has done this before, it was done quite nicely. The premise was executed very nicely, and I would have loved to have seen this televised to watch how people deal with cookware in their pants. The visuals that could accompany it are hilarious. I really liked the guy at the end who caught on fire trying to get his keys.

The People's Court: A marvelously absurd piece. It had killer dialogue, especially the arguments between Judge Milan and the bailiff about the use of a Latino accent, and the insults between the rabbit and Lucky were very amusing. Seeing the Trix rabbit portrayed as a huge dick was great.

The Mannequin: Not a laugh-out-loud piece, but a very amusing read. I think I saw this concept done in a Levi's ad a few years ago, but it was carried out in a much more creative manner here.

Answering Machine: Oh man this was funny. Having the executives squabble over the graphs was amusing in itself, but the answering machine messages were hilarious. Maybe I should program my machine like that. It would definitely make the day of whoever calls a bit more surreal.

Family Feud: I'm sorry, this sketch just didn't appeal to me either. It was a clever concept, but for some reason I just couldn't get into it. Again, sorry.

The Sneeze: Started off rather slow, but definitely picked up steam when it got to the central premise of the sketch. The boss' anger at not having anyone bless him was great, and I loved his employee's responses as well. The ending was incredible, totally out of left field and hilarious.

An Announcement from the Treasury Department: This was a so-so piece. The first part with Snow's message was pretty good, he had quite a few funny lines. But it just went downhill when the Cheney shooting joke was brought up again. That happened three months ago, and in my opinion it was only mildly funny when it happened. I just don't feel there's any reason to dredge up stale material.

Crud's Cyber Cafe: Wow, this was a rather weird piece. It was a little hard to follow at times because it kept jumping between different sets of characters, but it was still a pretty funny sketch. I liked watching everything spiral out of control. The best part was definitely how Crud dealt with his customers and Dan.

Humiliating Memories: Eh, I wasn't particularly fond of this one. The whole "mother embarrasses her son in front of his date" bit's been done before, and I didn't think the dialgoue was that funny.

Actor's Forum: A little too much celebrity-oriented humor for my liking. As I've said before, I'm just not a fan of pieces that put a lot of focus on pop culture and celebrities.

Well, that's it for me. See you all in the mock summer season. Let's make it one for the ages!
