Hosts:

Benjamin McKenzie - Heard the name, that's about it. I'd pass on this guy until he has a few more credentials, his IMDB page is sparse. An unreleased movie and a presentership at the Kid's Choice Awards? I'll pass.

Mischa Barton - Not very familiar with her either, but at least she's got something of a body of work. Apparentally I saw her in The Sixth Sense, but I don't remember it.

Adam Brody - I've heard this guy's supposed to be the funny one from the O.C. I remember him doing one of those voter registration spots on Comedy Central. If we have to have someone from the O.C. host, I could deal with this guy.

Rachel Bilson - My response to her is pretty much the same as Benjamin McKenzie.

Laura Prepon - Considering Ashton Kutcher is pretty much confirmed, this seems highly improbable. Three "That 70's Show" castmembers aren't all going to host in the same year. I haven't really seen her outside the series though, and thus question her range and versatility, but she is fairly good on the show. Perhaps if Kutcher weren't hosting (in fact, wouldn't be a bad switch as this season is kind of underweighted in female hosts, especially good ones).

Musical Guests:

Breaking Benjamin - I kind of like these guys, not anything fantastic, but little is these days it seems. May be lumped into the whole "teen garage" musical movement going on now, but I haven't seen the rock stations shying away from them like they do Dashboard or Good Charlotte and I think that says good things about their long term potential.

Switchfoot - It's been two years since The Beautiful Letdown came out, and they're still coasting on their second single. "Dare You To Move" is no "Meant To Live" either. They missed their chance, in my opinion. Also, has SNL ever booked a christian rock act (not counting U2) before? P.O.D. perhaps?

Velvet Revolver - Bring it on.

Blink 182 - No thanks. Grew tired of these guys not long after Enema of the State came out. Would have been a good choice back in the Dude Ranch days.

Hoobastank - Kind of surprised they haven't been booked yet. They're alright, kind of the Collective Soul of their era I would say - medium level heaviness and a weightiness to the lyrics that only feels like it means something if you come of age when their music's hitting it big. I'd prefer Chevelle.
