Subject: A long-overdue review (hey, that rhymes!)

All right, I'm sorry it's taken so long to get this up, but I have been rather busy. So without further ado, here's the review (cool, another rhyme):

And then there were Celebrities - On the plus side, this had some great lines and clever insults. On the negative side, I'm getting a little tired of the cliched celebrity parodies. That, and the jumper at the end didn't fit the scene at all. An okay sketch.

Monologue: This was brilliant - it's something you'd expect from Black himself. The attitude, the anger, the whole she-bang is pure Lewis Black. Excellent work.

Dennis Miller working at McDonalds - some good lines, but not all of them seemed to be at the same level as Miller's usual fare since too many of his lines were focused on celebrities; I did not see one archaic literary reference, this is unacceptable blasphemy! Just kidding, I liked it. Again though, the ending didn't fit. McEnroe was not needed at all in my opinion.

Coffee Break - can't comment on my own sketch, but I'm glad I got some good feedback on it. I just wanted to do something that was funny but had the potential to offend people, like SNL in its early years. Just to say, if anyone thought this was in bad taste, just wait until you see the idea I have planned out for a cannibalism sketch...

Richardson's Funeral Home - I couldn't follow this at all. It didn't make any sense, and it wasn't really that funny. Sorry Patrick, but this wasn't some of your best work.

The Lost art of Making a Pledge - very nice work here. Rivers' bitter disgust is hilarious, the show clips are great, and the wrap-up where the very products Rivers badmouthed save his life is quite a nice touch. IT did seem to end a little too prematurely, but still very good. Bonus points for the phony text that would scroll at the bottom of the screen, that was a good technique.

A Real Celebrity Moment - incredibly short, incredibly dull. Sorry Mark.

A Guy, a Girl and a Psychiatrist's office - this was a little hard to follow at points, but overall pretty good. The psychiatrist would be a great character for future sketches - his methods of creeping out and insulting his patients could have many good uses in the future.

Al Franken PRess Conference - I'm sorry Prateek, but this didn't really provide much of a laugh. The dialogue lacked humor and seemed to go off in all directions, it was another piece that was hard to follow.

Get Up - this had a great premise, but it ended at a key point where the audience was left wanting more. Chris Irvine gets a cyber bitch-slap for this.
