Subject: Jack Farrell's Super Awesome SNY Review: The Neeson Edition
In reply to: Patrick Lonergan 's message, "REVIEWS: Liam Neeson 11/13/04" on 18:26:21 11/13/04 Sat

Good evening everyone and welcome to another fantasticly mediocre sny review but before we get on to the review here are a few news bites...

SNY News: The book live from snlyou.jt.org its saturday night you will unfortunately continue to be on hiatus through the rest of this month. With some luck the next edition should happen in early december with a good chance of the series concluding sometime in early january.

Movie Pick of the week: Eh not too much out this week, I reccommend seeing the incredibles again or if you havent seen it once go!

TV Picks of the week: The Law & Orders (all of them, check your local listings) Thursday: ER, Saturday: Some show with comedy sketches that starts at 11:30 pm eastern time. Sunday: The Simpsons

Now onto the review

Changes in America: "Come on lets switch places, it worked in the parent trap"

Well I wont talk too much since this was my sketch. I basically came up with the idea when everyone around me kept blabbing about how it was the glorious how Bush was elected and that the "traditional family" whatever the hell that is would be the only family in America. I originally had Bush send the homosexuals to Mars but I thought that was going too far. While a little short this is my favorite of all the presidential address bits that I have written.

Monologue: "No stereotypes tonight!"

I liked this monologue Jen it was timely, it was solid funny, and just ran together real well. I didnt drop dead laughing but I likes it a lot, keep up the great work Jen, monologues just might be your thing.

Brokaw Roast "I am Tom Brokaw and I am the man of the hour"

I dont really know Brokaw very well so I cant comment much on the jokes about him but this sketch didnt do a whole bunch for me. I think this one just might have been my own tastes as I tend to usually stray away from jokes involving celebrities (not always mind you, hell I did co write Reese's other sketch.)

Being Rich aint Easy: "But its better than poor!"

I liked this sketch, it ran a little long for me in the end but it just gelled with me pretty good. This week may have been short on submissions but its definitely a quality over quantity kind of week, nice work here JP

Weekend Update "Have a pleasant tomorrow"

I was really mixed on Weekend Update this week. I thought everybody's jokes were really good (except for a couple clunkers I wrote, Uranus joke what was I on!") But the commentaries just seemed kind of bland to me, not that I could write any better just check out my Ron Burgundy bit from the summer shows yech I sucked!

Rent Him- "Its cheaper"

Another very nice sketch here by Jen. It didnt go on too long and its something I wish I could do with some friends of mine, good job this week Jen.

Late Late Show "Is Piscopo available?"

Before I comment on this sketch I want to say the idea for this as well as about 80 percent of the sketch is all Reese and I think he did a much better job on this. The only thing I wrote in this sketch was the audition by Dennis Hopper and Kilborn showing back up. Seriously though what was Craig thinking he aint got nobody wanting him. This was a very fun sketch.

Guilt Free- "Stupid Cricket conscious"

So many things I want to do that my "morals" wont let me. I wrote this sketch just to blow off some steam. Just imagine what you could do if you had no angel on your shoulder, sure it would be illegal but for one glorious moment. The only thing I didnt like about this sketch was I could have done more with it. Hmmm perhaps I could make this the first recurring commercial product

Overall show: SNY beats SNL, granted SNL didnt get much effort from Liam Neeson but their script guys could have done a lot better than that. Next week its Luke Wilson but until then buh bye

Jack
