Hello everyone, my apologies for not getting my review in properly for the Luke Wilson show but alas finals at college were a bit much at the time and something just had to be cut. Luckily its the winter break so things should return to normal. But anyhoo on to the news.

SNY Headline News: The latest edition of Live from snlyou.jt.org its Saturday Night You will be released the Monday following the Robert Deniro show. Get ready for some great stuff including info on the infamous unaired episode starring civil war president Abraham Lincoln. Also after this series wraps up get ready for a whole new feature from Jack Farrell Productions called SNY Biography where we go behind the hot steamy controversial lives of the SNY writers past, present, and if time machines are invented future. So stay tuned!

Sports: Well it looks like hockey is screwed and my team the Bucs are dead so eh F$%# sports.

TV Picks of the Week: South Park Wednesday 10pm, Some sketch comedy thing on NBC 11:30 Saturday

Movie Pick of the Week: Lemony Snicket's not Harry Potter film- No but seriously this does look like fun, opens Friday.

And now onto the review!

Presidential Cold Opening by Hilary

"You made me bleed my own blood!"

Not too bad of a job on this sketch, I didnt drop dead laughing but it seemed to flow pretty good and it was nice to see a cold opening not take place in the oval office, like I always do, stupid Jack be more original. Nice one Hilary.

Monologue- DRG4

"Its like I died and went to heaven, but then god said it wasnt my time so he sent me to a brewery"

While this monologue was a bit short for my tastes I did like the general idea of it since the FCC thinks dead bodies good, four letter words bad. Another nice job here comedy bot DRG4, you've earned the right to slap that C3PO bitch for the rest of the week good job.

Slaughter the Pounds- Me

"We could solve all these problems if only we had enough rifles"

Well originally I was going to write a completely different sketch then this but time was short so I kind of threw this together at the last minute. Its kind of a one joke sketch but hey I think its better then Mary Gallagher. Stupid fun here.

Wicket- JP Ragan

"Why did all the dinosaurs die? "Because you touch yourself at night"

Very funny stuff here by JP and I am awarding this as sketch of the week. Very funny stuff here JP and the skittle and m&m bit was great. Not much else I can say about this sketch just great fun.

Old Navy- Ryder

"We all know being overweight is a genetic disease just like baldness and necrophilia"

I honestly didnt care for this sketch that much although I do share the hatred that I am sure many of us all have for those damn stupid commercials. Nice try at doing something new though and dont worry it was still a million times better than Trump Condoms, dear god what was I on?

CD'S- Jim Bevan

"I am not saying we should kill stupid people I just think we should take the warnings off hazardous items and let the problem solve itself"

While I really liked the idea behind this sketch my goodness it was too long. I liked the ending to this sketch as well but this has to be tightened up a little bit. Overall though some fun stuff to be had in this sketch and I totally relate to the problem, god when I worked at Disney you damn near had to pound at Mickey Mouse's door to get any kind of business thing done.

Drunken Irish songs- Mark Jennings Reese and me (a little)
"Trust me Niles your putting a fork in the toaster" "Well my muffin's stuck"

Most of this sketch was all Mark, the only major add on I had was the argent song, I love that damn thing. This sketch is a bit schizo with all the impressions but I still think it was fun, good work Mark.

Respected in the End- Me (again yeah I know stupid Jack)

"Oh Lois the gynecologist called he said it was just a dustball"

Ah now this was my big sketch of the week. I came up with this sketch when I thought "Hmm what would a man have to do in order to get respect at his funeral after leading a horrible life" and this absurdity was born. I think I may have gone a tad too far with the Nazi thing, but ever since I saw The Producers I just think Nazi's can be very funny. If any of my sketches make this year's best of I would hope this would be one of them.

Jameson Firm- Prateek

"Even we dont know what we do"

I liked this sketch a lot as well. A little crude around the edges but overall very fun. Not much else I can say about this one.

Urban News- Reese II

"I got a hang nail it hurts like the bitch that I did last night"

I am actually going to abstain reviewing this sketch since I am so white I dont really get all the jokes that are going on in this one.

Tina's scar- Mike LeBlanc

"How you doing!"

Very clever sketch here by LeBlanc lesser known brother. It was a bit rough towards the other cast member but sometimes you just have to lay into them to get the good jokes. This sketch wasnt too long and I laughed quite good, this one takes 2nd place for the week, welcome to the club LeBlanc

Movie Night- Patrick "God" Lonergan

"Obi Wan never told you what happened to your father"
"He told me enough, he told me you killed me"
"No Luke it was just an accident, the light was green and he jumped out into the road and hey I tried to hit the brakes"

While at the risk of lifetime SNY banishment I liked the idea of this sketch but I didnt drop dead laughing at it either. I got all of the movie references myself, which shows how geeky I am. I liked the idea of this sketch but I had a hard time finding the jokes, it felt more like a movie commentary than a comedy sketch. Still cool though Mr. Patrick Lonergan (bows and backs away)

Show Overall Grade: B

And in the neverending contest between SNL and SNY this weeks winner is....

SNY by a decent margin, the only sketch that really creamed us this week was Weekend Update.

Other News and Notes: In an earlier post Mark Jennings Reese II commented that not enough people were submitting for Weekend Update. While this isnt entirely true (Mark has only had one week where he did it by his lonesome) I do agree that an increase in submission would be awesome. Thats why I am putting up the challenge that all of our regular and featured writers send in just 1 joke for WU. Any more is totally awesome but if every one just gives 1 joke for Weekend Update then not a child in the streets will go hungry and it will increase the chance of hilarity by at least 7 to 8 percent. Also if your running low on material for a sketch and you've called everyone with an ounce of talent yet they dont seem to be home, feel free to email me and I would be happy to do a little co-writing with you, because I have a lot of free time on my hands, no girlfriend, no cash, just SNY. Well I have rambled on long enough have a great week everyone

Jack
