You have to keep in mind that there's always going to be someone who thinks making comments like the above are somehow helpful or useful. And he may say that he'll "likely never come back to read replies," but I suspect, even if he doesn't post a follow-up comment, the temptation to read other's replies to his post will be too great to pass up.

Anyway, comparing the scripts on this site to the performances on SNL is really an error in comparison. It's easier to pass judgment on a visible performance, but a little harder to visualize how our sketches would look performed. Certainly, the reader's perception of a script is far different than the writer's perception. In my opinion, we have some great writing here, everyone has their own unique writing style, which is key to the site's usefulness. Whether or not most people here would fit in on the SNL writing staff, or would want to, is a moot point. I, personally, wouldn'r want to be on SNL's writing staff. On the one hand, it's too cold to live in New York; on the other hand, I'm not impressed with the results coming from their writing staff. I do the SNL Transcripts site, and I always hold a high appreciation for the sketches which are as good a read on paper as they are a performance on screen. I watch the show from a writer's point-of-view, and I've been impressed by very few sketches based on the writing. Especially recurring character sketches that are basically carbon-copies of previous entries (Here's to you, Debbie Downer). I admit there's an energy in the performances, and there are cast members I consider myself a fan of, but their writing hasn't been up to par this season. I think the funniest and best-written SNL sketch this season has been Affleck as James Carville. But I don't want to watch nor read a sketch like Airport Security with Colin Farrell and Amy Poehler. I can't recall an instance where I've been more embarrassed as an SNL viewer.
