The idea behind this site is to write under the premise of "what if this was on SNL" so essentially with every sketch the writer is trying to find out what might work on TV. We use the SNL actors because it's an SNL based site.

In addition, its easy to use the SNL actors because we're aware of their capabilities. We're not so much aware of one another's acting abilities because I don't think any of us have ever met in person. We could take one another's word for it or disregard and simply cast people but then that's as unproductive (As far as the possibilities of making a sketch a reality) as casting professional actors you'll more than likely never work with.

Some people do have aspirations to act in their work or make their work real someday but some don't. I personally might have the opportunity to record some of my work in a video production class I'm taking this quarter if the rest of my production group likes one of my scripts. But I think its more for the fun of writing than the idea of production.
