Hello folks and welcome once again to Jack's super awesome SNY Review as we round out the summer mock season. Its been a very interesting round of shows that has helped us satirize some things that the SNL group will never get to do. As for me this week a lot of things have changed and a lot remain the same, here's the weekly report.

Weather:
"The light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off due to budget cuts."

Ah good old Hurricane Charley came around to me locally in Florida. Fortunately it mostly bypassed my house and caused only a slightly messy yard. My former Disney pals took the majority of it, being without power for a week or more. Also this weekend Hurricane Frances has come to shore once again forcing everything closed and disrupting Floridians lives. As I write this I am about to get hit with Hurricane/tropical storm Frances and barring a huge increase in storm intensity I should be fine. The bad news is that good ole Hurricane Ivan is out by South America and its projected path is dadada Florida! and if it does hit us it will happen once again on a freakin weekend! I dont want any of these storms to hit anyone but if they must why cant it be mid week where we could relax a bit from the daily grind where we spend our lives. Anyhoo I'll let you know how it turns out

TV:
"No beer and no tv make Homer something something"

Finally this week we start getting some of our fall season shows starting and here are a few of my personal picks..

Sunday: almost zilcho, Lost World Jurrasic Park, adult swim
Monday: Absolutely zilcho
Tuesday: Al Franken Sundance (I believe this is a video broadcast of his radio show.)
Wednesday: Drew Carey SERIES FINALE 9 and 930 eastern
Thursday: Joey (Friends spinoff, hey I thought Friends was actually funny until everyone started sleeping with one another.)
Friday:Zilcho, go rent something
Saturday: SNL

Movies: Nothing Damn Hollywood

And now finally on to the actual review

Bush News

"Groovy!"

I wont comment too much on this sketch since I wrote it. Basically I wrote this sketch partially because I was so unbelievably pissed off at all the damn hurricane crap we have been dealing with and also because I thought Bush sending troops into Hurricane storms was classic stupid Bush. As for the somewhat gay poem that Bush ends up writing well that part I just wanted to write something that I thought every macho man in this crazy website would just plain old puke from the sketch's cutesiness. The one thing I kind of regret from this sketch is soon I'll be known as Jack "Cold Open" Farrell.

Fun Fact: The cat Mittens is the same name as my cat and is also a cat that Jay Sherman has landed on in the show "The Critic"

The Monologue
"Moby Dick hahahaha"

Admittedly this was an interesting idea for the monologue. Although a lot of these jokes went over my head (I have no idea who Moby is) and a couple of the lines seemed a bit too crass, even for this site. Another problem with this was Finesse seemed to just come out of absolutely nowhere, I didnt really get why he came on. On a good point I like the musical guest N.E.R.D. I think that describes all of us pretty well:) The one thing I will always say though is the monologue is the hardest thing to write and I admire anyone who even tries.

Nice ass Boxers
"Kiss my shiny metal ass!"

Their were a lot of short little bits this week that were great and this was one of them. I never understood why kids wear their pants halfway down, I just dont get that, dont they realize their pants might fall down and then they'll trip over themselves I mean jeeze. Overall though nice sketch, Although I prefer to wear my pants a little more Urkel style then that.

Montel

"Is their any number lower than absolute zero?" "Yeah my white cell count"

Ah the great old talk show sketches. This was another good sketch although I think it could have been stretched out a little bit further then it actually was. I just fealt like their was another twist waiting for me near the end but it didnt come. Overall though good work, just needs a little bit of development. If it was me dying my last dying wish would be to go to that great old planet of the apes, hey Wait a second Statue of Liberty, that was OUR PLANET! YOU MANIACS! YOU BLEW IT UP! DAMN YOU! DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!

Well thats my big overdramatic ending to part I of the SNY Review. Check back later this week for Part II as well as the 2nd chapter of Live from snlyou.jt.org its Saturday Night You where we finally find out about how the money was raised and the crazyness of the first show. Thats all for now

Jack
