Hello everybody Jack is here with his SNY review for the week and my goodness what a week it has been around here. First new ep of snl, end of the baseball season, and the finding nemo ripoff sharktale. Well we'll be getting to the review once I take care of a little bit of business.

DVD Pick of the Week: Sledge Hammer The First Season- If you liked Naked Gun your gonna like this trust me

Sports Winner of the week: The Chicago Cubs: Finally one year closer to having a World Series less century.

Best Book Title: When will Jesus bring the Pork Chops by George Carlin

Now onto the review...

Cold Opener:
"With that blindfold on him he's not gonna be able to see out their"

Very clever sketch here CCS and I liked it. You kept things moving along at a nice pace and I always find it funny when people make innerself comments spoken out like regular conversation. The only downside to this sketch was saying LFNYISNL twice, you just cant do that, I mean seriously I went back cause I thought it was over. No but seriously nice sketch, extra points for not using the word Whore.

Monologue
"This will flip your beans, what if I am the human and you are the robots!"

Well once again the show was in dire straights, Patrick didnt have a monologue and he was threatening to shoot himself in the head. I told him I would be more than happy to write one, I also told him shots to the head is my game and he better butt out. Anyhoo... This mono was written pretty quick and indeed wasn't my best sketch ever, I just thought it would be funny to have Rachel come out pretending to be old and to throw in a weed joke. On the plus side though I do think it was better than my Scarlett Johannson monologue.

Kentucky Jelly- Ew, I am sorry Pat but ew. This sketch actually disgusted me more than it made me laugh. I could see it working better performed though. It was still classier though than Dr.Porkenheimer's Boner juice.

Debate- "We're working hard, cause its hard work"
I hate to say it Jennings but the SNL debate sketch was better. The problem with this sketch I thought was that Bush was too dumb. IMO the best way to make fun of Bush is to have him play it as though he were smart but he sounds like an idiot. Not too bad though with Kerry's stuff and on another plus it was shorter than the debate on SNL which while funny went on a bit too long. I guess I shouldnt criticize because its hard work and your working hard and your coming in on Saturdays.

Weekend Update with Tina Fey and Seth Meyers no wait Amy Poehler, no stop Horatio Sanz, no its Charles Rocket

Not too bad of a weekend update here, a little saddened by the Rodney Dangerfield commentary since he did tragically pass away earlier today at the age of 82. While I am sure every journalist in the world is going to say this I am going to join them, Rodney you have my respect.

Trump Roast- "Trump is the best- FOR ME TO POOP ON!"

I wasnt too nuts about this sketch. For one the only thing I know about Trump is he has the show "The Apprentice", a bad wig, and says "You're fired" so a lot of jokes just kind of went over my head I am afraid. Still nice effort I know it can be tough having 3 writers on a sketch, The Simpsons used 4 or 5 writers to do a Super Bowl script once and it turned out awful so kudos for keeping it together.

The Sub "Sit down and SHUT UP!"

I actually wrote this sketch with two things in mind. One I wanted to get the host more involved with my sketches. Two this sketch is partially based on a current college teacher I have who while isnt quite as mean is definitely "intense". I think its a good sketch, feel free to poop on it though if you like to.

SNL Special Edition "The all new Special Edition of Empire Strikes Back where the cast has been completely digitally replaced with Ewoks!"

I really liked this sketch as I am one of the fans who believes directors shouldnt go back and change their films just cause they can. Good explanation of Jimmy's laughing and unlike some other reviewers I liked the random Tony Danza joke, reminded me of that Family Guy show where they have a whole parade based entirely on one episode of Who's the Boss. Keep up the good work comedy bot DRG4.

Well thats all for this review, I shall have a review of the SNL show up soon, but until then get your hands on those keyboards and get to work on that funny, we air in about 90 hours:)

Jack
