First and foremost, I want to thank the fine people here at SNL for allowing me to join their family this season. I've had a lot of fun, made some great friends, and learned quite a bit about how to improve my comedic skills. Writing in sketch format will prove handy in the future, since I'm taking a creative playwriting class at school next semester. Thanks again all, and now, on with the reviews:

Cold Opening: Rather jumbled, the twins don't stick to a single topic but instead jump around with varying subjects that make them worry. Still, quite a number of funny lines; getting excited over royalties, their cynical run-down of the episode, and the Tim Conway/Harvey Korman comment was quite a nice touch.

Monologue: Psychotic, sadistic, clever. The only thing that brings it down is the "pervert can't wait till the twins are 18" gag repeated for the God knows what number time. The horse porn site didn't do much to improve it. But hey, even in the freshest of meadows, you're bound to come across a small turd.

Private England's Dilemma: Would have been better had it not been turned into a Mentos commerical, though the parody jingle was hilarious.

Smiles and Frowns: The way you descibe Victor's life and all the tragedies that occured in it, I get the feeling you're a fan of Lemony Snicket. The way each of his horrible anecdotes piled up was very amusing, nice job.

Team Morale: I take it this was based on the true-life story of that coach who gave one of his athletes a "Crybaby" award to tease him. Ooh, all the insults, are the girls Don Rickles' grandchildren? One of the show's best bits.

Time After Time: If I may point out a problem, when the cheating spouse is brought up, you don't indicate in directions that Future Amanda is missing an arm. This had an interesting premise, but I don't know, it just didn't do it for me. I did like the lines at the end when both Amandas were fighting "You want a piece of you?", that was clever.

What's in a Name: Urgh, the "funny and wierd names" bits have been done to death! Sorry Mark, this didn't have the gold of your first skit. Too many characters, a blandly stale premise, and practically no good jokes.

Donald Rumsfeld Press Conference: Nice commentary on the show finales, and Rumsfeld was definitely psychotic during his interview. I recognize one of his lines from that song "Courtesy of the Red White and Blue", but was the "I'm a man, you're a woman, let's not confuse things!" taken from a movie or song? All in all, pretty good, but Tom Brokaw's ending comments could have had a little more punch.

Double Trouble: Another horribly repeated premise dragged from the bowels of "Sister Sister" reruns, and again, lacking in redeeming jokes.

Jay-C Show: I don't know why, but these sketches are so gross I can't help but laugh. Thanks again Mark, for incorporating my Seinfeld bit into your work, but you really didn't have to list me as a co-writer. Jay C's jokes are disgusting, but very well written, and his questions and behavior are completely out of this world. Nice way to end the season.

Well, that's my review. Sorry I didn't get a sketch in, I've just been running haggard trying to find a summer job and helping around the house, I didn't have time to get it plotted out. It was a good one, too, the Olsen twins were cat-girls (hopefully Jay C doesn't have a furry fetish, or he'll kill me for not submitting it.) Ah well, the idea can be used for another day, another female host. I'll be back later with my picks for the best of the season. So long, farewell, and thanks for all the fish. See you for the mock summer episodes!

Jim Bevan
