Southern Cross is great for country trains but if you are on the St Albans line 9 out of 10 trains you have to change at Flinders but with no warning. Many a time Ivanka and I have headed out to New Market. This line and Richmond are the worst for changes . Apart from that peak hour is your only worry.
Having said that what a lovely Australia day it was. We sat at Lake Jubilee after lunch amoung Australian flags and many New Australians celebrating the day.
The weather up here was simply magic!
