Marty,

I would hope "we" would have loftier aims than merely being able to compete with Australia (interesting result from the informal mens game between a v. green 2002mens squad and the aussie squad in easter this year, aye)

And the women... I think we are on our way to being harder and tougher than before, perhaps one day our women might even get the domestic exposure (competition wise) the Aussy women enjoy.

Our rules were last modified in 1999. At that time, the current ICF rules were a labrinth of contradictions and confusions...
I think a fantastic job was done of simplifying things into a small and easy to read booklet.

There are many people who attempt to "make their mark", I would think anyone would be immensly proud of even 1/2 the contribution the author of our rules has made to NZ polo.

I'd be interested to see some evidence to support your statement that the "rest of the world" thinks its ok to paddle with the ball under your arm.
From recollection this was raised at the 2000 Worlds Referees Briefing, and received a resounding No. However, quite a few changes have been made since then, I haven't found anything to indicate this practice is now acceptable, but it would be great to be enlightened on this point

-I look forward to your reply

(in my definition "rest of world" is not equal to "Australia")
