Subject: That is correct - the US embassy will NOT help however, since we fall under the British Monarchy, the British Embassy/Consulate is where Canadians need to go, if there is nowhere else... It is listed at the back of your passport. I was in a country with only a US embassy, was told to go there if we had any issues, which we didnt, but it was good information to have. They may not help in ways that your own embassy would but they wont abandon you either and will put you in touch with the people you need to be in touch with.
