Subject: Hmm...after watching, I don't really know who stands out. In the pictures, some of the girls are just WOW, but observing them in front of the camera just gave me a different opinion. Has Elena been in Canada for a while? I sense she may be like Genida, a more recent immigrant; however, both are stunning girls. The question about 100x2 was kind of disappointing though, she really seemed to think about it, and get it wrong--maybe she misunderstood and didn't notice her error when he said "close enough" but for a math major, I expected more. I sure hope I don't sound like I'm bashing! I just expected something else I guess. If there is not a citizenship requirement, then Canada just becomes a place where anyone can run for the title. It would have no relation to Canada whatsoever. Conceivably some girl from Romania could send in her photos, be accepted for the pageant and arrive several days before. Why even call it Miss Universe Canada then. I stand by my comments. From Miss World Canada web site: "Eligibility of Applicant: 4. Must be a Canadian citizen by birth or naturalization and must provide proof of the foregoing". From Miss Universe Canada web site: "To qualify for the 2008 competition, you must be a Canadian Citizen and at least 18 years of age and under 27 years of age by February 1st, 2008". I don't know about eligibility for other pageants. BTW, to become a Canadian citizen a newcomer must have a legal immigration status of Landed Immigrant and live in Canada for at least 3 years.
