Subject Author Date There is a crowning photo on Global Beauties. I was rooting for another delegate but looking at that picture, WOW she looks stunning. If she has the persnality and spunk I think we have an excellent chance at Miss Universe. She looked amazing in that gown. I don't have a child in this years pageant, so its not sour grapes.. but I have known about their prepping their winner since the year Natalie won.. this isn't new people. They prepped Natalie which was an easy win because she was really strong, Alice was prepped and was semi-convincing, but I dont think she would have won if real judges were present.. and Inga NOT a chance in hell that was a bad choice Denis. And this year Samantha has been prepped since last year, they just choice Inga over her because of her resemblance to Natalie and Sam needed more polishing. Its so obvious and to any girl that is from Toronto and witnesses this prepping its no shock who wins. I know of many girls who got free entries/free sponsorship because they caught on to what was happening. Karma I hope does exisit... but sadly I think the whole pageant world is this way.. its a money making business, they dont care how dishonest it is. Natalie was amazing and deserved to win, Alice was amazing and deserved to win, Inga is a sweet girl..it was a weak year and this year its Sam.. I think if it was fixed, Sahar would have won. she seemed to be favored this year. this win only goes to show how NOT fixed this pageant is. Stop trying to diminish the wins of these amazing women. I'm sorry that's not fair.. especially when BOC is sending them. I do know for a FACT the prepped girls are given special treatment such as free gowns to wear, extensions, sponsorship... TRUST ME I KNOW. And I do for a fact know that many of the sponsors were Judges in the past, so is that fair? Judging a girl whom he/she sponsors? Sort of biased is it not? Any of the contestants from the Toronto area knows what goes on... No one can say a pageant is *fixed* but we can all definitely say there is prepping going on and an unfair advantage. I actually know of (what a small world) one of Alice's sponsors back in 2006, and he even admitted and was bragging that he already knew Alice was being handpicked to win thus boasting about his sponsorship to the "winner" before it even happened. Sahar was sent to one competition--Samantha has been sent to at least 5 and was taken by BOC to MU last year to watch and learn. Nobody is sayng Nat and Alice were'nt amazing but the organization absoultely grooms its winner before the competition and they win. You do the math. I witnessed it myself and even seeing it years later its obvious what BOC does. Just look back to 2004 the year Vanessa won... I would like people to remember what that production was like, look at the judges they were all reputable and weren't personal friends of Denis Davila. The host was Allan Thicke, it had a different vibe. Vanessa won, not Natalie who was being prepped. Denis changed BOC ever since 2004.. he made it easier to get away with, by hand picking judges that are his friends and sending girls off internationally, etc. If you look really closely the dynamic changed drastically since 2004. It is the fact that a beautiful, talented, standout girl from another part of the country has NO CHANCE to win. If BOC hasn't had their eye on you and prepared you, you have NO chance. They won't take the risk. That's what happened with Vanessa in 2004, the judges saw something in her and she was gorgeous, but didn't perform to BOC standards. Ever since, they want to be 100% confident the right girl is chosen, so they are doing it themselves. And yes it's working but it's not fair and its wasting alot of people's time and money. Not to take anything away from Natalie, but that year, many of us considered Gretal Montgomery to be way more beautiful than Natalie. The next year, Alice was a foregone conclusion. Maybe she was handpicked, but even a truly fair panel of judges would have selected her. Then came Inga - that was shocking to say the least. I can't imagine anyone fixing the pageant for her and yet I can't imagine her winning fairly. This year, I don't know what to think. Samantha is a decent choice, and I'll leave it at that. Although Natalie would do better on an internationally level, Gretal would have made a genuine better MUC. But we are all forgetting what the pageant is about, looks... who cares if the woman is sweet and kind on the inside.. obviously BOC doesn't, they want a winner who is marketable and $$$. Alice was handpicked too.. she had a ton of modeling potential.. Vanessa was the only one that stayed in it because she was from out of town. That is another reason they like Toronto girls winning, cheaper for them! They can groom their winning well before MUC, once she wins she's practically ready for MU.. so they just do final touchups and hope they are on their way to a Miss Universe. What a crooked organization the BOC is! They even say it's the 57th annual Miss Universe Canada Pageant and that's not the truth. MUC was only started in 2003. Prior to that, it was the original televised Miss Canada Pageant for over 40 years then after it was cancelled, a few other organizations took over. I wish people would see what BOC is and thanks to "Insider" for bringing this out. There should be a petition to be sent to the Miss Universe Organization to revoke BOC's license to send a delegate to the Miss Universe Pageant. And all the MUC delegates should be reimbursed for their entry fees and compensated for the utter disrespect and fraudulent practises of BOC. The same former Miss Universe, who beside their reigning Miss Universe, judged the very pageant you want them to revoke the license for based on their ethics?
