My daughter has been dancing for almost 2 1/2 years and has moved from beginner up through the grades by her teacher. One thing I have noticed at feises is dancers dancing in a grade clearly lower than where they should be eg dancing in elementary when they have place highly in the state championships or dancing in intermediate when they have placed highly at nationals. This is very unfair to the dancers who tuly belong in that grade. There seem to be no clear rules as to who should be in what grade except the promotion up when they win a dance with 8 or more dancers competing. -- Rules should be clearer and teachers should make sure their dancers are dancing in the right grade., Tue, May 07 2013, 10:03:32"

- It may seem unusual for a dancer who placed in the top 10 at Nationals to then dance in intermediate the next year, but it does happen and they are still well within the rules to do so if they have not won the dance. This whole discussion seems to be a case of sour grapes in my opinion. If your dancer wants to win trophies they need to work really, really hard and take the good with the bad. Hey Everyone,

Just writing to let you know that the Claddagh Feis entry form is now available on the AIDA Inc website: http://aidainc.com/2013-feiseanna

The Feis is being held on the 3rd and 4th of August 2013.

The two adjudicators are:

2. Brian Geraghty ADCRG Dublin Ireland.

Please note that the closing date is Friday 21st of June.

We would just like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for supporting our beginners feis this year.

We realise that we ran behind time and for that, we apologise but when we put the entry forms out we never imagined that we would get so many entries and we only had one day to get it all done.

Last Gold Coast Nationals, the apartments across the road were the "official" accom, although we got a cheaper rate booking through an agent. I think one Perth Natioanls might have had special rates at the apartments near by. It's not unheard of and several months ago there was a post from someone in WA saying that special rates were being negotiated, but nothing came of it by the looks of it. The Syllabus for the Tasmanian Festival 2013 is now available for downloading on the AIDA Inc website. At the bottom of the page is venue information and also accommodation suggestions.

Its the 30th year this event has been run, so we'd love to see some new faces plus all the usual faces that support this fantastic event each year.

This Festival is aimed for dancers of ALL levels. It's particularly great for the Primary and Intermediate dancers who have the chance to win premierships and have their time on the block. All of the top 5 winners receive a Sash and all dancers who compete in a premiership receive a trophy.

It's a great weekend away in Hobart, so we'd appreciate your support and love to see you there,

It is with much sadness that I have to notify our irish dancing family of the death of Mrs. Barbara Hall, mother of Tracey Hall a former dancing teacher at the Penrith Gaels Club.Mrs Hall and Mrs Struthers mother of Charmaine May for many years organised the canteen at our AIDA competitons and provided a beautiful lunch for all teachers and adjudicators at State and Australian cships in the earlier years of the AIDA. They have been making lunch in my school for 48 years and loved by many teachers and pupils in Sydney. May she rest in peace. Janice Currie Henderson and family and students.

i have just been made aware of the new rule in regarding triple clicks and above and i am rather agitated in knowing the new rule that have been imposed by the comission,
