  • I thought the ban was at the discretion of the teachers involved and was designed to give new teacher time to retrain the dancer in his/her style as they cannot use another teachers choreography. Overseas travel would surely not incur a ban, that's just ridiculous as there would be no competition between the teachers involved. I know of overseas backwards and forwards and interstate moves that have not incurred a ban so I think that does look like the teachers decide whether or not to impose a ban. • Can anyone tell me if there is a way that you can be graded to the next level even if you havent won in that level. Our dd is still in beginners but is competeing in open comps and placing but is still in some bun dances has won most of them but not enough competitors to grade up.   • My understanding is that if your daughter is actually dancing in open level, she can wear her fancy gear, it would only be if she was entering beginner dances that she couldn't wear her gear.   Just letting people know that Hunts Comfort Inn in Casula now have rooms available.
  It was previously booked for the weekend of the Claddagh Feis and I know there are a few interstate people who had to book elsewhere, further away from the venue due to it being completely booked.

  Strollers/prams are not permitted into the Auditorium or Theatre due to fire regulations. It is the responsibility of the Hirer to make this rule known to all patrons attending the event/function.

Fire regulations are the main reason that ID is unable to hire suitable venues as they are alll undergoing renovations to comply with the more onerous requirements. However, Aisling is a very small school and once marshalls, door and backstage is taken into account, then allowing for the parents whose children are dancing/about to dance, there are too few left for that duty. Also, there is no cloak facility we can use and trying to create one with too few resources won't work. Finally, as the cost of this feis seems to arouse strong opinions now and possibly decreases the number in attendance, adding an additional $5/$10 per head to cover security hire (very expensive) would possibly cause more complaints and drop-outs.
