I am curious about teacher etiquette when dealing with transfers. Does the teacher who is approached for the transfer contact the other teacher out of politeness and discuss the matter or do they just lodge the transfer through AIDA? -- Is it an awkward situation or just considered as you win some and lose some?, Sun, Nov 01 2009, 8:38:59"

- It is not a rule but the teacher who is approached for the transfer should contact the other teacher out of politeness and discuss the matter. (NT) -- It is also a good idea for the family to discuss the move with the original teacher as well. - New teacher notifies a nominated state AIDA member of the transfer. AIDA then notify new teacher of ban completion date. Old teacher will find out via AIDA, but it is considered good ettiquette for the dancer to notify old teacher themselves that they are leaving & transferring rather than letting them find out "through the grapevine" (NT) -- hope that helps, Sun, Nov 01 2009, 9:05:33"

I have seen it happen several times to unsuspecting teachers and it's not pleasant. Even if a teacher is a real problem she deserves to be told whats happening. On the other side, she can't throw your child out of class without an explanation. And yes, you could get a blank reaction just from surprise and embarrassment, especially if the teacher is in the middle of a class and has to keep her composure.. This has happened to us twice and on both occasions the move was done "correctly".     - World Championships run for a week and they have one main stage and a recall hall. NAN's have age groups split in 2 as there are so many competitors and the competition runs for 4 days and they have 5 stages all running at the one time. CELTIC FIRE LIVE is currently auditioning IRISH DANCERS for their brand new concept show.

CELTIC FIRE LIVE will launch early March 2010, featuring traditional and modern Celtic music performed by Angela Little, whose voice featured in Baz Luhrmann's epic 2008 film, "Australia."

In addition to a high level of dance performance, we are also looking for DANCERS who have experience SINGING BACKING VOCALS and PLAY AT LEAST ONE OF THE FOLLOWING INSTRUMENTS:

* TIN WHISTLE

* KEYBOARD (piano and / or synth)

* GUITAR

CELTIC FIRE will be a touring production and we are also looking for people with flexibility in their schedule.

- Brent, I highly recommend/insist you go to the doctors! A broken toe (or any bone for that matter) is something 'to be bothered' about! There is no 'amazing' cure for this - no ointment, no kiss from mummy to make it better. They will probably xray it, strap it and tell you to rest. - if they are leather soles, it sounds bizarre but hot water on the sole and on the heel just place the shoe flat on a plate of boiling water and then bend them straight away, either where them and then go on over toes or elastic them up or something :) works a treat! - The best way of breaking in shoes is basically to wear them... There is no fast track, all those little 'tricks' tend to ruin the shape and durability of the shoe and they tend to not last for as long! I tell all my dancers to wear them whenever possible (at home round the house etc) and to stand on ur toes with the help of a chair.
