The problem with the notion of just enjoying nationals for the love of it has major flaws. If you go to an aida dancing school to dance just for the love of it, and not compete, you will be ignored by the teacher. We've been to two schools and the classes are all about getting ready for the next comp. My daughter still loves Irish dancing but doesn't want to compete
