 Hi Nosey, there was never 'one comment' made but a whole tirade of accusations and judgments some of which were supposedly coming from attendees at Daulby, and some of which were supposedly coming from this persons ability to 'read people'. However, none of the accusations were born out in fact, rather, they were a product of this persons deluded mind. My motivation for bringing this up on here is to make people aware that the President of the Church is prepared to lie in order to facilitate and encourage this person to further 'develop' what can only be a mental illness. Unfortunately, I have no circumstantial 'proof' but my concern here is for the peace of mind and mental wellbeing of vulnerable people who are quite obviously suffering and looking to Daulby for guidance and reassurance but are instead being encouraged to develop delusional states of mind. Unless a spiritual community can help people to develop inner qualities such as joy, compassion, loving-kindness and equanimity, then I'm afraid it is of no use, as it is only by learning to tame our own minds and take responsibility for what we claim to be 'picking up' that we can claim to be on a true spiritual path. All else is entertainment and frivolity. In order to find our way out of suffering and develop inner peace, we need a route map and a qualified spiritual guide who can show us what to practice and what to abandon, how to begin, and how to complete the path. Perhaps I am calling into question the very nature and purpose of Spiritualist Churches and I would not expect the SNU hierarchy or any connected Committee to agree with what I am saying. I just feel that having experienced first hand the suffering of one very ill person, it is a crying shame that Daulby Street Church cannot or will not see it and choose instead to encourage it. I hope this goes someway to answering your question.
