I've only been able to tell one person this, and that's Theresa, because i'm finding it so hard to deal with, but here goes so bare with me.

I got my results of the MIR scan, and at the same time had to have a bone biopsy (which hurt like hell), and the doctor told me i've got Pott's Disease.

Hadn't a clue what that was till he explained, it's Tuberculous of the spine, a type of arthritis, and is serious, if i hadn't of started treatment of drugs i'd of ended up paralysed within a year.

Also there is other stuff which i won't go into here, also with all the medication i'm on i tend to sleep an awful lot at the moment, so i've had to cancel my course.

They are very good about it, and told me to take things easy and not to worry, my health is more important, so when the 12 months of treatment are up i'll see how i feel and then get back in touch with them.

By the way if anyone is trying to email me, the server is down and has been all weekend, i finally got hold of someone about 10 minutes ago, and it could be out until either tonight or tomorrow.

Leila just want to add my congratulations, i never had any doubt you'd do well, and will continue to do so.
Take care everyone and i'll be back as and when i can stay awake long enough, ha-ha!!
Love Janet.

A Third series of Lewis has been commisioned and will start filming the second week in July, possibly finishing in November for an early UK screening in 2009.

They will film four stories and the first of those is called "Allegory of Love" written by Stephen Churchett, who wrote the pilot episode, with Chris Burt back as producer for the series.

I tried to find this topic in the arhive because I know we have discussed it in the past.

The series has returned to PBS in California, I am most happy to say !! Morse was fondly mentioned in the dialogue of last week's episode.

Maybe some of you know will know how many episodes of this series were made and if it is still being filmed.

As an aside, one of my most fave Morse plots was 'The Ghost in The Machine' because I was charmed that Morse was able to out-snob the Victim's Wife with his personal attendance at the Royal Opera which put her in the soup !!
Having often been to the ENO , it brought back lovely memories as well. AND of course Lewis was very sly with the au pair which was endearing.

Another huge fave among the episodes was the Driving School one...John Thaw's performance was sheer bliss .. even more so than usual.

Hullo to ALL !! Haven't posted here in several years and glad to see the activity.

Not easy for me to talk about, but my back has been playing up rather badly for a couple of months more than usual, so i decided to visit the doctor for some stronger painkillers.

A few weeks ago this was when my sister was on holiday, he sent me to the hospital for x-rays, and blood test, from these results, i had to have a further CT Scan on my back, and after this it was reported to me that i had a bruise on my spine and arthritis.

This i thought was the end of it but oh no, don't do anything by half me you know, last Friday i had to have a MIR scan on my back as the doctor still isn't sure about what is causing so much pain, now i just have to wait for these results.

To say i'm sick of seeing the inside of a hospital is an understatement, mind after everything i've been through in the past i wouldn't trust a doctor or nurse as far as i could throw them, ha-ha!!

I thought i'd keep you all posted, as it's not easy for me to come on here as much as i'd like too, and if i'm not in touch with anyone for any length of time then you know the reason why.

But i'll always try and pop on here, because i don't want it to fade away, and i want to keep John's memory alive and kicking.
Take care everyone
love Janet.

hi all,
just got back from a weeks holiday to jersey.
what a fantastic island; i'm totally in love. we've had sunny weather and a very relaxed atmosphere. leaving husband and kids at home and just travelling with a friend also helped to create a relaxed vacation ;-)
the series bergerac started my interest for jersey and i put it on my (very long) "things to do-list" (right after cuba, actually). luckely my best friend had it on her list too and a few years ago, we decided to travel there. so this was last week! we've had a great time there driving and walking round the island; spending lots of time on beautiful spots and eating out in the sun and basically just laughing about everything and nothing. (except when holland lost the soccer game against russia... boehoehoe...)
anyway, i guess most of you have the same love for detective series (how did i get this idea??) and propably like midsomer murders, or, even earlier: bergerac.
two series starring john nettles. he really is a great actor, at least, i think so. on jersey i bought a dvd set, series four, from bergerac. now i'm watching it as often as i can during ironing and when everyone else has gone to bed. funny to see the spots i walked on, just a few days ago.
he looked very dishy back in the 80's!

after i've seen the bergerac dvd's (twice, lol) i'm going to start monsignor renard for the first time! this dvd box is staring me in the face since i found it somewhere unexpected in a corner of a shop, a few weeks ago.
leila and janet, your lists of john thaw "things to see" is very impressive!

please take care you all, and hope to "speak" to you soon!
love sandra
