Subject: I think the Jane-Fanny story line is an odd addition. But DG doesn't usually just drop whole chunks of the story, so I wonder when and where we will see Fanny again. William's sense of Honor reminds me very much of Jamie's. But, then again, William was raised by another honorable man, LJG. It's painful to watch William figure out who he is, but I think most people go through a time in their late teens--early twenties when you start facing yourself. It's a painful process.
