Subject: what should i do?

my family finally has done without t.v. for a short season. out of respect for me, sometime in May they turned off the cable and did nothing but movies. i told my football fan husband he could turn it back on for football. now that it is up and coming, he said, he enjoys listening to it on the radio, and i said he could turn it back on (the t.v.) and that i expected him to ... but now i feel like i'm backsliding ... because i would love for them to enjoy life outside the box, but making unnecessary concessions. it's not like they gave up everything. they still have movies and video games. should i just leave it as is, and let him decide? or tell him that i am really glad he's thinking about keeping it off, and listening to the radio instead? or? any other ideas? how do you feel about radio? i love paul harvey, though i confess i haven't heard him in ages.
