Wow June, that's really something they did that for you.

You can't force things upon other people. You've gotten them to try a small taste of what life without TV is like - maybe they'll come back for more. Try and encourage them, both as a family and individualy, to join you in some of the things you do that don't involve the tube. Distract them - one at a time if need be.

The key word here is "encourage," and you should definitely feel encouraged because at least they tried it. Reread some of the other posts here and you get reminded just how ingrained TV watching is in the masses, and how absurd most people find the suggestion of turning the thing off.

Take heart, but don't take it personally. You are not backsliding - you cannot control the behavior of others (take it from someone who has been battling THAT windmill for years!) You showed them a beautiful world untouched by the blue glow of the Boob Tube, at least for a few moments. Now be patient and let those seeds germinate. A little love, water, and manure is all it takes...
