"And, despite what you might think of us lowly mercinaries, I'm not an idiot. I'm well aware of your 'special skills', prince. And let me assure you, no matter what in the hell you send at me, and no matter how fast you can move, there's no way in hell you can stop these from impaling you in at least a dozen places before I'm consumed. It's rather like a spider web made of steel mixed with a lightning bolt."

"Now, I suggest that you and your 'special friends' just back away from this area and let us escape, hmm?"

A darting image in the rocks behind the prince caught Cephis' eye.

"Oh shit..." he whispered, then jerked his cannon a foot to the left and pulled the trigger.
