There may well be someone with strong nerves who falls in love with Securus but is strapped for cash - your latest price is very attractive. However, Osmosis is an emotive subject and much feared by those who want to keep their financial investment intact.

Beachcomber was treated about ten years ago but I noticed at the last haul-out that a few new coin-sized bumps have appeared - imperceptable until the new antifouling was applied. I shall, of ourse, continue to sail her with no worries, osmosis at that cosmetic level never sank a boat.

I think you know my past attitude, Nick - but you didn't agree at the time, that Trapper cut corners on the quality of lay-up resin with the severe price rises after the 70s oil crisis, as did some other boat builders. I have tackled most of the other weaknesses, such as stanchions and their bases, but there's not much one can do about the basic build material.

Good luck in your sales endeavour but if she doesn't sell and you start the treatment, perhaps you will decide to get another season in .....

Best,

Brian.
