In theory you should certainly get the company to compensate you. I forget the exact law but it's like the Sale of Goods Act, but for services. The work was not done to a standard that a reasonable person would expect. You could inform them in writing, then get the job corrected and ask them to pay. If they don't, file a small claim against them in the County Court. This can all be done on line, costs very little and in my experience, works like a dream when you have a solid case. Good luck. Don't let them get away with it!
