Dave, I have a T250 and my Winter project this year was to build a new rudder. Nothing particularly clever. I created a template from the old rudder, made a blank by bonding 2 x 25mm marine ply boards and then removed the unwanted material (lots of it). Once this was complete, I covered the whole thing in six coats of West epoxy before painting and antifouling.

Having heard about people moving their rudders forward in the TS240 rudder stocks, I took the opportunity of taking the leading three inches off of the rudder stock above the waterline so that I created a partially balanced rudder. This has made the boat so much lighter on the helm.

The result is great, but would I do it again, positively not. It took a huge amount of time and cost a fortune, but at least I know that it is a solid job!
