hi
if i was look in brokerage listings and saw a 501 at the price that yours is at. i would assume that it was either riddled with osmosis, in terrible condition, or both! yours is not, because i remember meeting up with you in Yarmouth a few years ago, at one of the rallies. with a new yanmah she offers outstanding value.
assuming that she has not started to de laminate, a friend of mine had his boat vaccume bagged and treated for just over 2k in Dartmouth. buying a boat with known osmosis and splitting the treatment costs 2/3 1/3. gives piece of mind, otherwise any boat of this age, that is free now could easily develop blistering later on in her life. P.S the blisters could just be under the epoxy treatment, and between the gell coat. this would easily be resolved be removing the anti fouling and epoxy, allowing to dry, and re epoxying when the whole moisture readings are suitably low. good luck ken
