One rope each side is enough and the lenght is double the boat lenght if you set and take it down from the cabin hatch (recommended) . You will also need a pole lift and down haul. I always have both blocks in the aft toerail.
The easiest way to make it out is to go to the library and borrow a book about basic sailing or just search the Internet.

Spinnaker sailing is fun but can be tricky in hard weather so practise in an easy breeze.
