360s and play in the rudder aren't related though. The 500 had the facility to reverse the rudder whilst the 501 had stops fitted to prevent this.

Both suffer from wear in the rudder stock housing as it was just a tube of fibreglass with no bearing fitted.

Various people have come up with systems of either fitting plain bearings or refilling the rudder stock tube with resin to make a tighter fit.

Personally I would favour the plain bearing approach, which is how they should have been built in the first place.
