Richard, this season my 300's stern gland leaked quite rapidly whilst the prop shaft was turning, and like you a couple of turns on the lubricator stemmed the flow, and I checked every time I left the boat to make double sure it was not dripping,as on one occasion after a fortnight on the mooring I found the cabin floor under 1/2" water. I have the YSB 8 out for a strip down and overhaul,so the shaft is out and I am repacking the stern gland stuffing box with 5mm stuffing. This is probably what you will need to do. It is possible to raise the engine and pull the shaft out underneath, pull off the stern gland and repack. If you go to www.alohaowners.com then go to projects you will see a whole section on this subject. Hope this of some help. John.
