I doubt that the lead keel would be much heavier than the cast iron one. Presumably the reasons for choosing lead are based around it's higher specific gravity and lower maintenance costs, so you get a finer profile with no rust.

If it was substantially heavier it would lower the boat in the water.

Cast Iron has a specific gravity of 6800 to 7800 kg/cubic metre compared to Lead at 11340 kg per cubic metre. So the same weight of keel could be achieved with around 60% of the material.
