High guys I know Im encroaching out of the 240 ranks but just to ley you know that the 300 and 500 are now too small to be considerd as "first time boats" This is fact that "level entry" into yachting is now on average at 32 feet. You can judge this by the fact there are virtually no manufactures who do anything smaller. except for the "quaint and specalised" end of the market. In a recent PBO where they revued a 26 ft boat with the headline of "the roomiest micro cruiser around"!!!!
As an Ex rya instructor I regually tought navigation to first timers on a day skippers course who had just bought a (sorry about this ) A Bavaria for his first boat. I am happy that I failed most of them (not for bad nav just for buying a Bavaria) Oh well The benifit if this is that most marinas have waiting lists for 30+ ft so we can always get a berth somewhere
Boats to be launched this week Yiippeeeee
Kim
