I rarely have my normal washboards in when aboard, Frank, except with storms or underway when it gets rough - it's just too hot below without good air circulation in the Med. I do have washboard frames with netting for evening and night use as the Italian lagoons have mosquito hotspots, my marina being one of them.

Good idea to ask on the C&C27 forum; with close on 1000 of them produced maybe someone has modified. I can easily test the principle by connecting the port cockpit drain outlet to the existing manual pump outlet, sealing the starboard one and running water into the cockpit to see how it empties.
