This question has probably featured before...but I am very interested to know the best options for re-engining my Trapper 500 (No.252 'Florence' based on the Blackwater) which is still with the original 1975 Yanmar YSE 8. Is there a replacement that doesn't require a new shaft & P bracket and fits onto the existing mountings with a minimum of fuss? What is the preferred make? What are the likely costs? ...and I'd be glad of any general re-engining advice..
