this may not be fully relevant but:....On my 500 Ive found it possible to get right under the cockpit sole from an empty locker ..and I'm not small, ..this will give access to almost anything you want to get at under the cockpit and to starboard, in addition I can get at the starboard drain cock from the engine hatch ..but I suspect that I have a larger than standard hatch.

Another good way of getting the pipe to open up is to use a hair drier to soften it (Direct the hot air into the pipe) ..I found it much more effective than boiling water,

its a bugger that this new white pipe is metric and just a teeny bit smaller than the old green stuff ...which of course fitted the Blakes sea cocks!
