Forgive a T500 owner butting in but from the other respondents I suspect this problem was not just a T300 problem but a generic Trapper one.

I had this freshwater leak in the forecabin for many years and knew that it had to be rainwater ingress somewhere from 'the pointy bit' of the ship. I spent a lot of time uselessly resealing the bow fittings but by chance traced the leak to the anchor locker.

The triangular hinged cover seats onto a wide edge that is intended to drain into the locker, however, the aft edge section, which is formed from the lip (top) and glass moulding of the vertical, aft section of the locker (bottom), just didn't meet, forming a wide crack into the forecabin, invisible above the inner lining. As the lower half of the lip did not extend as far forward as the top half it needed getting the head into the locker to see the bad join.

Rainwater would collect at the corners of the lip and then drain down through the crack and not complete the path into the locker.

The solution was to bolt the entire length of the two aft, half sections together with countersunk ss bolts and an araldite sandwich centre. This should be done when completely dry, perhaps using a hair drier if power is available. I used a teak strip of wood across the beam of the locker, which I through-bolted under the lip and then glassed in.

This cured the problem immediately and I have had a completely dry forecabin for more than ten years since making this correction.

Regards,
Brian.
