Brian, thank you for your kind offer. I am way up in the frozen North and pond sail on Ullswater in the Lake District (sadly the only TS240 in the area, unless someone knows otherwise). The keel will be going back in this Sunday (Mar 13) hopefully. I am probably too far away and the notice is probably too short for you to lend a hand, but all offers of assistance in this job are always welcome!
I have taken photos of the process so far and will continue to take more as I get the bits put back together. I am happy to share any info I have and pass on the help other owners have provided.
Perhaps I could put this all together as an article for other owners who need to replace the keel box?
Does anyone have any idea why on earth they made the keel box from mild steel? Mine only had the remains of some red oxide paint on the areas that had not already turned to cornflakes.
