Tony,

I'm not terribly technical so you will have to bear with me a bit. The sort of thing I've been looking at is a hosting service for the website that would support php so the aim would be to use php to provide a forum on our own website.

we will have a new domain name and a new website (which I'll need your help with to get going)

It's a paid service not a free one so we should have a better forum and a better website. It's a hosting service that supports a number of things and one of them is php.

The reason our current site does quite well with modern search engines is that I did a lot of linking with other sites when I put it together. At the time search engines used metatags and I had no idea how to do anything to improve our rating. I thought the best thing to do instead was to get ourselves known so I swopped links with a number of directories and organisations.

since then search emgines have changed and now rank the number of links so we naturally improved our rating.

My aim would be to have a link to the new site from the existing one, and to the new forum from the existing one, in the hope that we won't lose too many people.

Over time we can update our links so that we start to get found in our own right.
